Turning Dreams into Reality: International Online School of Musical Dreams by Amela

Hello, I am Amela, and I would love to share a dream with you :)

For many years now, I have dreamed of opening a piano and accordion school that would be a place where people from different parts of the world can come to receive the best support in achieving their musical dreams.

After years of education (I am currently a PhD candidate with two master’s degrees and two bachelor’s degrees) and nearly nine years of teaching experience with children and adults, I have finally decided to take that step and start the International Online School of Musical Dreams!

You may wonder: why did this step take so much time?

Well, I needed many years of education and practical experience to develop a methodological approach based on the individual needs of every student—a method that has proven successful. I also needed time to ensure that online teaching could be effective. And most importantly, I was motivated by my students' support, love, and achievements.

I started playing the accordion and piano as a child, and now I can’t imagine a day without them. When I was younger, I didn’t fully appreciate what a gift music was. But one day, I had a ‘lightbulb’ moment that truly set me on this path.

My first student, from Sarajevo, who was almost 40 at the time, reached out for lessons and shared a beautiful story with me. His father had passed away in the war, and one of the few things he had left was his father’s old accordion. He began learning to play it as a way to connect with that memory. When I saw his dedication, I realized: “It is never too late to make your dreams come true!” and this is why I named my school the School of Musical Dreams.

Through my own life experiences, and also through my students, I have seen that playing a musical instrument is not only a beautiful skill but also one that can positively impact one's well-being. Playing music is one of the most relaxing things you can do after a stressful day at work. Equally meaningful is the happiness you can give (and receive ;) ) when you play for someone you love.

I know that, for some, learning to play an instrument might sound like an ambitious goal, especially for adults with busy schedules. And I won’t pretend it’s easy—learning piano or accordion takes time and dedication, like any skill. But it’s absolutely worth every second! Plus, with a good teacher, the journey becomes easier, more enjoyable, and sometimes even feels like spending time with a dear friend.

My dream is to grow this school into an online space where people from all continents and of all ages can join—united by a single goal: to make music.

I will be here as your teacher, to guide you on your musical journey.

If there’s a ‘little sound’ inside you saying, “Let’s try,” don’t hesitate to reach out!
